Duda and Nausėda will participate in the peace summit

Polish President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda will take part in the first Global Peace Summit, which will be held on June 15-16 in Switzerland.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Twitter.

Zelenskyy said that today, May 6, he had a telephone conversation with his Polish counterpart.

"I spoke with the President of Poland and thanked him for his unwavering support for the peace formula and confirmation of his participation in the peace summit in Switzerland," the Ukrainian president wrote.

He also added that he had discussed with Duda how to ensure the widest possible participation in the peace summit of the countries of the Global South.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the summit provides the best opportunity to achieve peace based on fair conditions.

The President of Ukraine also informed that he had a phone conversation with Nausėda to personally invite him to the peace summit.

"I thank President Nausėda for confirming his participation and readiness to actively promote the participation of other countries," Zelenskyy wrote.

According to him, the conversation also touched upon issues of further defense cooperation and work on a security assurance agreement, as well as the timing of its signing.

The leaders discussed expectations for the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., which will take place on July 9–11.
