Europe calls for the withdrawal of Georgia's EU membership candidacy

The European Commission should suspend Georgia's candidate status for EU membership.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Lithuanian MEP Petras Auštrevičius on Twitter.
According to him, Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream Party failed to ensure that its country meets the status of a candidate for accession to the European Union.
"The adopted law on foreign interference is a step backwards from democratic principles. I call on the European Commission to suspend the candidate status and cut economic aid," the MEP wrote.
It should be noted that yesterday, May 1, MEP Viola von Cramon called for the withdrawal of Georgia's candidate status.
