The Russian Federation may not directly attack NATO countries, but it will continue hybrid attacks such as signal jamming and election interference.

This was stated by the new commander of the Finnish Armed Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his interview with Reuters.

Some officials, such as US President Joe Biden and Danish Defense Minister Trolls Lund Poulsen, have expressed concern that Russia's long-term plans may include an attack on NATO.

"Of course, an Article 5 test is always possible, but if we take the right measures and maintain unity, I think an attack is unlikely," Jaakkola said.

In his opinion, Russia is currently too busy preparing for a new summer offensive in Ukraine to consider an attack on NATO.

"The point of the Russians is that they want to cause as much division in Europe as possible, so that our unity and cohesion is a little bit weaker," the general said.
