According to the calculations provided, the average capacity of the shelter is 200 people, and the places for temporary shelter are 100 people each. Thus, 3,120 shelters will be able to protect 624,000 people, and 1,490 temporary shelter places will protect 1.249 million people in the country.

The draft of the Latvian Ministry of Internal Affairs specifies possible sources of funding for the repair of shelters, including European Union funds, a state support program from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, applications of municipal investment projects for a loan from the state budget, etc.

According to the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Silini, special signs will appear in the country this year to indicate the location of renovated shelters.
