Turkey has decided to extend last year's restrictions on some Turkish exports to Israel due to "the intensification of the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine," the Turkish Ministry of Trade said in a statement.

"The second phase of measures taken at the state level has begun, and export-import operations related to Israel have been suspended for all goods," the statement said.
"Turkey will firmly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israeli government allows an uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza," the Turkish Ministry of Trade noted.

Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz called Turkey's decision "the behavior of a dictator who violates the interests of the Turkish people and the business community by ignoring international trade agreements."

The Israeli government will work to create immediate alternatives for trade with Turkey by increasing local production and finding other suppliers, he said.

The head of the organization of industrialists in Israel called on the government to impose protective duties of 100% on all imports from Turkey over the next three years and consider a complete ban on the import of certain goods.

"This is the only way for Erdogan to understand that he cannot play with us, and that his actions will have long-term consequences," said Ron Tomer, president of the Israeli Manufacturers Association.
