In the Czech Republic, about 43 thousand children of Ukrainian refugees, many of whom have been in the country since the beginning of the war, have finished the school year. This was reported by Czech Radio.
It is noted that in total, about 1.47 million students of basic schools and secondary schools have completed the school year in the Czech Republic. Starting on Saturday, July 1, they will begin their summer vacation, which will last until Monday, September 4.
According to data from September last year, a record number of 1,007,778 students attended basic schools in the Czech Republic in the 2022/23 school year. For the first time in the history of the country, the number of children attending basic school exceeded one million.
In April, the Czech Ministry of Education reported that almost 40,000 Ukrainian students study in basic schools in the Czech Republic, and 3,457 in secondary schools.
