Nov 17, 2023

The Ukrainian military will receive hundreds of domestically produced drones by the end of the year. They will be supplied by Ukroboronprom. This was stated by the head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuriy Shchyhol, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the share of Ukroboronprom in the total purchases of the Army of Drones is constantly growing. Shchyhol emphasized that the State Special Communications Service has contracted hundreds of drones. They should be ready by the end of 2023. "It has grown from zero to what we are buying from them today. And it was zero back in August. From August, when we signed the first contract, to today, the share of Ukroboronprom has increased from one to several hundred drones that have already been contracted. We plan to receive them by the end of the year," said the brigadier general.

Shchyhol added that Ukroboronprom is now producing weapons that it has not produced for ten years.

"They started making FPV drones, long-range drones. We buy these products from them and supply them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," emphasized the head of the State Special Communications Service.

It is worth reminding that the Ukrainian army already has dozens of domestically produced drones in service. These include not only unmanned aerial vehicles but also surface drones.

Also this year, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 40 billion for investments in Ukrainian drone manufacturers.
