Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Vadym Prystaiko said that the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevhen Prygozhyn, will not pose a threat to Ukraine from the Belarusian direction.
He said this in an interview with Sky News.
"I do not believe that the forces that Prigozhin is taking with him to Belarus will threaten our flanks because we kept sufficient forces there just to repel an attack from Russian troops," Prystaiko emphasized.
He added that it is "interesting" to observe how "the importance" of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko is growing.
"He planned this to become something more important than just a Belarusian leader," Prystaiko said.
In his opinion, this is one of the explanations why Lukashenko agreed to Belarus becoming an allied state for Russia.
"These are the best times in his political career," Prystaiko summarized.
