Poland has reported the detention of another alleged member of the Russian intelligence network, the fifteenth suspect.
This was reported by RMF24.
Employees of the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) detained the fifteenth possible member of the Russian intelligence network as part of a major investigation conducted by the Lublin Department of the National Prosecutor's Office.
The detention was announced by Mariusz Kaminski, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, who also coordinates the work of the special services.
The detainee is a citizen of Ukraine and has been living in Poland since 2019. According to investigators, he collected data on critical infrastructure, including military facilities and ports, and passed the information to Russian intelligence for a fee.
The man is charged with participating in an organized criminal group and working for foreign intelligence against the interests of Poland.
He is believed to be a member of a wider agent network that was exposed several months ago. According to media reports, among other things, its members tried to track the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine. The investigation suggests that they could also have been preparing sabotage in Poland.
