As of today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have de-occupied 40 settlements in Lyman and Svyatohirsk communities of Donetsk region, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories reported on October 8.
"Infrastructure restoration has begun there (in the liberated settlements - ed.), stabilization measures continue. Currently, destroyed houses are being inspected and their owners are being searched. It should be noted that more than 260 such buildings were found in Sviatohirsk alone," - the statement reads.
In the villages of Krestyschi and Mayaki, power supply is being restored, mobile communication is being restored in Sviatohirsk.
"Humanitarian aid to the population has begun to actively arrive: from local authorities, UNICEF, the Red Cross Society of Ukraine. Those are, in particular, food, hygiene items, heating devices. Social payments to the population continue," - the government agency informed.-
According to him, the payment of pensions has been resumed in the liberated Lyman, Sviatohirsk and the village of Yarova, the Pension Fund has paid 8 million hryvnia since the liberation.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on October 4 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had liberated dozens of settlements in Kherson, Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions during the week. He also confirmed the liberation of eight settlements in the Kherson region.
In early October, it became known that Ukraine regained control of the city of Lyman in Donetsk region.
