Supporting Ukraine is a restoration of values and a priority for the return of peace to the European continent.
Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović-Burić said this at a PACE meeting, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"I believe that support for Ukraine is the restoration of values and the main task for our leaders, and at the same time, it is the main question of how to return peace to our continent. And, unfortunately, the war in Ukraine is perhaps the most terrible and horrific example of where the world has been headed for a long time. But we have other places where conflicts are also brewing or emerging. Helping Ukraine in various ways will help us to actually restore peace in Europe," the Council of Europe Secretary General said.
According to her, the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is a vivid example of a terrible trend, in particular the return of populism and nationalism to some parts of Europe.
