Austria condemned the Russian Federation's pseudo-referendums

Austria does not recognize the pseudo-referendums organized by the Russian Federation on the occupied territories as their further annexation.

According to European Pravda, this statement was made by the Austrian Foreign Ministry on September 28.

"Official Vienna strongly condemns the illegitimate fake referendums to justify the annexation of the territories of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. This is another serious attack on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. These fake referendums have no legitimacy under international law and we will not recognize them, nor will we recognize the annexation of Ukrainian territories," the statement said.

Austria notes that by attempting to Russify Ukraine, nuclear threats, and announced partial mobilization, Russia continues to escalate its war of aggression, and the global problems with energy and food prices are a direct consequence of Russian aggression and are deliberately deepened by Russia's irresponsible and cynical actions.

"We urge the Russian leadership to act in accordance with its obligations as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and return to the negotiating table," the statement concluded.
