U.S. President Joe Biden arrived in the Northern Irish capital of Belfast on the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, which ended the bloody conflict in the region.
This was reported by Sky News.
Biden was met at Belfast Airport by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Biden will be on the island of Ireland for a four-day visit, where, according to him, he wants to emphasize "the United States' commitment to peace".
The US president will hold a bilateral meeting with Sunak on Wednesday, April 12.
He will then speak with the leaders of the five main parties in Northern Ireland before delivering a speech at the University of Ulster.
Afterward, Biden will travel to Ireland to visit Carlingford Castle in County Louth, where he is from.
In Dublin, Biden will meet with Irish President Michael Higgins, and Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, and address the Irish Parliament.
The president's trip will end on Friday with a visit to County Mayo, where he will meet with distant relatives.
Biden arrived a few hours after police found four suspicious pipe bombs in a cemetery in Creggan.
