On Thursday, the British Foreign Office announced plans to introduce a new sanctions regime against Iran, which would impose restrictions for "hostile activities," including military assistance to aggression.
This is stated in a statement issued by the British Foreign Office.
It is noted that Iran has stepped up its campaign to persecute its opponents abroad, and since 2022, more than 15 threats by the Iranian regime to kill or kidnap Britons or people living in the country have been recorded in Britain alone.
"Iranian intelligence services have established close ties with organized crime groups in the UK and across Europe to expand their networks. The UK will not tolerate such threats," the British Foreign Office said.
The new sanctions regime will allow for the imposition of sanctions against individuals and entities that, among other things, facilitate the use and proliferation of weapons or weapons technology from Iran.
This directly affects Russia, which has received hundreds of kamikaze drones and other weapons for use against Ukraine and plans to build a joint plant for their production in Tatarstan.
In addition, sanctions will be imposed in the event of undermining democracy, human rights violations, and other hostile actions against the UK and its partners emanating from the Iranian regime.
