Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain James Cleverly intends on Monday to sign an agreement with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and the deputy director of the Energy Community Secretariat Dirk Buschle to transfer the first £5 million to the fund of energy support of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the British government, writes European Pravda.

The first £5 million is part of Britain's £10 million commitment to the Energy Community's Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

"Russia's attacks on vital infrastructure show that Putin is taking desperate measures. But even in the face of rocket attacks and power cuts, the resolve of the Ukrainian people remains unshaken," the British Foreign Secretary said.

He added that Ukraine needs special energy equipment to repair critical national infrastructure, and Britain is supplying it at the request of the Ukrainian authorities.

"To date, Britain has made the largest donation to this fund. We need all partners to step up their support and show Putin that his attempts to destroy Ukraine will be met with fierce resistance," Cleverly added.
