The European Commission has reacted to the statement of the head of the Polish government about the supply of weapons to Ukraine by expressing its firm support for Kyiv.
This was stated on Thursday at a briefing by the EC's foreign policy spokesperson Peter Stano, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
Stano did not give a direct assessment of Mateusz Morawiecki's statement.
"We do not comment on Poland's announcement of what they intend to do regarding their voluntary bilateral contribution to Ukraine's legitimate defense against aggression," Stano said.
"What is important for us is that the EU's policy towards Ukraine does not change. The EU's support for Ukraine remains firm in all areas in which we support Ukraine: political, economic, humanitarian, international, diplomatic and military," Stano said.
He also noted that EU member states decide on their own what weapons they supply to Ukraine.
