At the end of March this year, another attempt at a "winter-spring" offensive by the Russian occupiers failed. The enemy has now moved to defense along almost the entire front line.
This was reported by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with Radio NV.
The Russian offensive has failed
Budanov said that on March 31, the occupiers wanted to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"Again, this is not even the fifth attempt that has failed. There is no offensive potential for a strategic offensive operation in Russia as of now and there will not be any shortly. This is the first thing to say," Budanov emphasized.
Russia has moved to a strategic defensive operation
The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine said that the current task of the Russian occupiers is to hold the occupied territories and disrupt the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
"These are all the tasks they are solving. The only exception is two areas: an attempt to capture Bakhmut, but here we must also frankly say that they have been capturing Bakhmut since June 2022. Therefore, it will soon be a calendar year since they seized it. The situation there is complicated, but Bakhmut is still standing. Secondly, there is an attempt to semi-capture Avdiivka from the northern side, but Maryinka is close by," Budanov added.-
