Bulgaria is already forming a new aid package for Ukraine

Jul 4, 2023

Bulgaria has already begun preparing the next military aid package for Ukraine, although the timeframe for its provision is still unknown.

This was stated in an interview with Glavkom by the new Minister of Defense of Bulgaria, Todor Tagarev.

When asked about the next aid package, the minister said that it has most likely already begun to take shape. "That is, the process has begun. The transfer itself, of course, will take some time. In doing so, we will be guided by the priorities of the Ukrainian side and will transfer to it, first of all, what is most necessary for it at this stage. This requires flexibility on our part, and we are, in principle, ready for this," Tagarev said.

He added that he could not provide details.

"As I said, this aid package is confidential. I can only say that it is based on ammunition, but there is also military equipment," the Defense Minister said.

Todor Tagarev also reminded that Bulgaria can now provide military and technical assistance to Ukraine without reconsideration by the parliament, and this has already simplified and accelerated the procedure.
