The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria summoned the ambassador of Northern Macedonia, Agnesa Rusi-Popovskaya, after the shooting at the cultural club Tsar Boris III in Ohrid, owned by Bulgarians.

This was reported by Euractiv.

Earlier this week, an unknown attacker threw stones at the club, shattering glass and some of the light advertising, and a few days later this escalated into gunfire on the premises of the club.

Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry condemned the serious criminal act in a note of protest.

"We note the reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Northern Macedonia, but we categorically do not accept such a serious criminal act, which is defined as an act of vandalism," the Bulgarian position added.
"Additional and serious sustained efforts are needed to fulfill obligations related to the protection and safeguarding of human rights, which is one of the main criteria on the path of accession of the Republic of Northern Macedonia to the EU," commented Deputy Minister and Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kostadin Kojabashev of Bulgaria.
