Several countries announced new military aid packages at a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's defense on Thursday, including Canada and Italy.
According to a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent, this was announced at a press conference on Thursday by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
The Pentagon chief noted the already announced joint assistance of the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, and Denmark to provide hundreds of missiles for air defense systems.
"Canada has pledged another $500 million to support Ukraine, including by providing 200 critical air defense missiles to help protect Ukraine's skies," Austin said.
In addition, he said, Italy has also announced the latest tranche of aid, which includes "the most important weapons systems for Ukraine's defense."
