As part of this amount, which will be allocated over several years, Canada will supply Ukraine with more Leopard 2 tanks. Canada will also apply new sanctions against Russia.

The publication reminded that since January 2022, Canada has provided Ukraine with military, economic and humanitarian assistance worth more than 9.8 billion Canadian dollars (7.2 billion US dollars).

The federal government has also imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia, sent Canadian forces to Europe to train Ukrainian soldiers, and hosted more than 175,000 Ukrainians.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also confirmed the allocation of aid to Ukraine in his speech.

"Canada has planned to allocate 650 million Canadian dollars for 50 armored vehicles and special evacuation vehicles to be manufactured in the Canadian province of Ontario. We will also be sending instructors and technicians for F-16s so that Ukraine can make the most of the aircraft," the Canadian Prime Minister summarized.
