China should be held accountable for supporting Russia in the war

Russia would not have been able to wage a full-scale war against Ukraine for so long without China's help. Beijing must be held accountable for supporting the aggressor country.

This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Politico.

Frederiksen criticized China for supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine and accused Beijing of not complying with international trade rules.

She called China part of a group of four countries, including Russia, North Korea and Iran, whose close cooperation “has enormous global implications.”

“I don't think Russia would have been able to wage a full-scale war for more than two and a half years without China's help. The situation where China is helping Russia in the war in Europe cannot be allowed to continue without consequences. It must be held accountable for its actions,” the Danish Prime Minister said.

Frederiksen added that the consequences for Beijing should be political. She also called for a rethinking of EU trade with China, saying that Europe has become overly dependent on the country.

“You cannot, on the one hand, allow Russia to attack another European country and continue to act as if nothing has happened,” Frederiksen emphasized.
