Coup d'etat in Russia: police, FSB, rosgvardia on alert

The FSB and other security forces in Moscow were put on alert.

A source close to the security services told the BBC that the Moscow office of the FSB has been put on alert. This is also confirmed by our source in army circles, who reports an alarm in the Moscow garrison.

According to him, the FSB, with the support of the SOBR (Special Rapid Response Units of the National Guard), is setting up checkpoints on the Don highway (the Moscow-Voronezh-Rostov-on-Don road). Those on duty are ordered to open fire "in case of a threat." The equipment is on standby, but the units have not yet received orders to deploy it.

Several other media outlets add that Moscow's security forces are on high alert, and the "Fortress" plan is being implemented in the capital, a plan to protect Interior Ministry facilities. The exact actions of the employees under this plan are subject to state secrecy, but it is public knowledge that the entrances and exits to the Interior Ministry buildings are being blocked.
