Cyprus will offer demining training to Ukraine as part of humanitarian aid.
Cypriot Defense Minister Michalis Georgallas said on Friday, Reuters reports.
"We will receive personnel who will be engaged in demining and mine detection," Georgallas said in an interview with Sigma TV.
A group of about 18 Ukrainian officers will arrive in Cyprus for training in the last week of April, the Cypriot press reported earlier.
Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov is visiting Cyprus on Friday and will visit the areas where the training will take place.
Cyprus was divided as a result of the Turkish invasion in 1974. The 180-kilometer demarcation line through Cyprus was dotted with minefields until both sides began demining the area last decade with UN assistance.
