Ukraine needs to do a lot of homework to fully join NATO.
The transition to technical weapons is already underway. The number of Western weapons in Ukraine is growing, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said on Radio Liberty.
"We now need to do a lot of homework to fully transition to Alliance standards," Danilov said.
NATO is not only a military alliance. Ukraine should pay attention to human rights, democracy, and freedom of speech, he explained.
"Our army already meets NATO standards. And the actions of our army meet the standards, no one has any questions here," the NSDC Secretary added.-
Danilov is confident that these are significant days for Ukrainian history.
"Of course, we would like to do it right away. But we have to keep in mind that the Alliance consists of 31 countries and each country has to give its consent. This is a complicated process. But I am confident that we will go this way," he added.-
