Ukraine is not blowing up the Kerch Bridge to leave the occupiers a way to escape from the peninsula.
This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with the German publication Welt.
Skibitsky admitted that Ukrainian special services and partisans are behind the attacks on Russian transportation routes.
"All supplies come from Rostov or through Crimea. They always go through these two main routes, and the Russians know exactly how important the regions around Zaporizhzhia and Kherson are. They are also rebuilding the Mariupol port as soon as possible, which will become the third key point for logistics... It is important to demolish infrastructure to prevent them from using logistics chains," said the deputy head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
As for Crimea itself, Skibitsky said, there is not much critical infrastructure that could be destroyed to prevent the delivery of weapons. But some guerrillas are "quite capable of striking," and intelligence officials, according to the general, "are there too."
According to Skibitsky, the Kerch Bridge is still standing only because Ukraine wants to allow Russians to flee the peninsula.
As a reminder, on the morning of October 8, 2022, an explosion and a large-scale fire occurred on the Kerch Bridge, which resulted in the blocking of traffic.
Panic ensued on the occupied peninsula as people ran to buy fuel and necessities.
