On Wednesday, May 3, the European Commission will present an Act in support of ammunition production for Ukraine.
This is reported, citing the Twitter of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
"We need to urgently step up production, procurement, delivery of ammunition. This is why the European Commission will present the Act in Support of Ammunition Production tomorrow”, von der Leyen wrote after a meeting with Czech President Petr Pavel.
We shall remind you that on March 20, the EU member states agreed on a plan under which Ukraine was promised to transfer 1 million shells within a year. The EU Council has already approved the allocation of money for this.
Moreover, the European Union is considering giving additional time to EU member states to balance their budgets if they invest in boosting munitions production, which is a priority after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
