Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with SpaceX founder Elon Musk. He plans to discuss cooperation in various fields, including space technology and batteries for electric vehicles.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg.
The meeting between Erdogan and Musk will take place in the newly built Turkish House, which is located near the UN headquarters. The UN General Assembly will meet there this week.
The Turkish president sees the launch of the Turksat 6A satellite scheduled for next June as an important milestone for gathering intelligence that can be used for military purposes.
It should be noted that Musk met with Erdogan in Ankara in 2017.
Musk's SpaceX company cooperates with the Turkish space program to launch communication satellites. Turkey is also looking for help in developing batteries for its first domestic electric car, the Togg.
