Estonia resumed work on confiscation of Russian assets

Jan 4, 2023

The Estonian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice have returned to the issue of using frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine and are working on the preparation of legal grounds for such a step.

This is reported in the ERR story.

According to Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, the goal is to create a basis for further use of these frozen assets to rebuild Ukraine.

"A freeze means that the assets are, shall we say, standing. Figuratively speaking, is in limbo. The goal should be to direct this large resource to reconstruction, to support Ukraine," he explained.
