Moldova will receive additional assistance from the European Union.
This was announced by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on March 23 on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels, Newsmaker reports.
"I would like to emphasize that my colleagues and I managed to discuss support for Moldova. Moldova will receive additional substantial assistance and support from the EU, and we believe that this is very important for Moldova, for us, and for the whole of Europe," Johannis said.
He added that it is unacceptable to allow Moldova to become a victim of disinformation, hybrid attacks, and verbal threats from Russia.
The conclusions of the EU summit state that the EU will continue to provide all necessary support to the Republic of Moldova, including strengthening the country's resilience, security, stability, economy, and energy supply in the face of destabilizing activities by external actors.
EU leaders also pledged to continue supporting Moldova on its path to the EU.
