France to transfer 20 Bastion armored vehicles to Ukraine

Ukraine and France will finalize a contract for the delivery of 20 Bastion armored vehicles.
This was reported by La Tribune and BFMTV citing sources.
It is claimed that the contract has not yet been signed, but deliveries of the Bastion could take place as soon as possible: the manufacturer Arquus has sufficient stocks to meet immediate needs.
The Bastion is a 12.5-tonne, 10-seat armored vehicle that is built exclusively for export. It is mainly sold to African countries. There are several versions of the Bastion; Ukraine is planning to receive a combat model that can be fitted with a 12.7mm machine gun.
"We have increased the supply of military equipment to Ukraine several times over. We are taking it on ourselves. We have to give Ukraine the means to defend against invasion," French Prime Minister Elisabeth Bourne said Monday.
