Opposition MP Nona Mamulashvili said on the Ukrainian TV channel FreeDom that Georgia may close the border for men with Russian citizenship from Monday, September 26. It is reported by UNN.
According to the deputy, there is no official confirmation of this information yet and the Georgian media do not write that such discussions are in principle underway.
According to Mamulashvili, the ban will affect men from Russia aged 18 to 55, but until Monday, everyone will continue to be allowed into the country.
Now a 30-kilometer traffic jam has gathered near the Verkhny Lars border crossing on the border between Russia and Georgia, many Russians are trying to reach the border on foot or cross it on bicycles and scooters.
