Soldiers of the Bundeswehr have arrived in Lithuania to participate in the first exercise of the German NATO brigade to strengthen the defense of the Alliance partner.

Soldiers and equipment of the 413th Infantry Battalion were transported from Kiel across the Baltic Sea to Lithuania by ship.
After arriving in the port of Klaipeda, the German military convoy headed for the Lithuanian military base in Rukla on Wednesday evening. An advanced detachment of special forces has already flown to Lithuania to take part in the maneuvers.
According to the Lithuanian army, a total of 250 soldiers of the German NATO brigade with equipment will take part in the military exercise Quick Gryphon and will train with Lithuanian troops.
