Germany approves 8 billion euros for purchase of 60 helicopters

Germany will purchase 60 Chinook military helicopters from the American company Boeing in a package totaling 8 billion euros.

It is noted that the allocation of money was approved by the budget committee of the German parliament.
According to preliminary information, this amount includes the purchase of CH-47 heavy helicopters for 6.27 billion euros, 700 million euros for maintenance, 240 million euros for contracts, and 750 million euros for infrastructure.
"With this, we are launching one of the most important procurement projects of the Bundeswehr's special fund," said Sebastian Schäfer, a member of the committee from the Green Party.
