Dec 4, 2023

Germany will continue controlling the border with three neighboring countries until mid-December, which was introduced as a temporary measure to prevent illegal migration.

Control on the border with Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will continue until December 15. The last time it was extended was in November for 20 days.

Since October 16, when the measures were introduced, about 3,300 cases of illegal entry have been detected on the border with Poland and more than 1,100 cases of entry have been prevented, the ministry spokesman said.
