Half a thousand residents of Melitopol are in Russian torture chambers

Mar 27, 2023

In the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, more than 500 residents are being held in Russian torture chambers.

This was reported by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov. He added that thousands of other city residents live like in a prison.

According to him, after each explosion, the Russian occupiers intensify filtration measures.

"They are organizing trials: for the words "Glory to Ukraine" and any other expression of a pro-Ukrainian position, they fine 30 thousand or put you in the basement. They film videos with prisoners about "confessions of sabotage" for the Russian media," said the mayor.

Also, Fedorov noted, the invaders are bringing new batches of military personnel and regular punitive bodies of the Russian Federation to the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, the occupiers lock people in their homes so that they do not see the movement of Russian military equipment.
