Over 81,000 hectares of Ukrainian land have been cleared of explosive ordnance since the start of the full-scale invasion
The area of the mined territory is increasing every day Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, a spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, said during an information telethon that it will take Ukraine more than 10 years to clear the territory of mines after the war.
"We have a general figure, we have calculated approximately how long it will take to clear our lands. It may take more than 10 years to demine all the territories. In addition, we do not know what is happening in the occupied territories. I think there is a lot of work for our sappers and pyrotechnics there because the enemy has mined huge areas and is building fortifications. The process is not fast, but we are working," he said.
According to him, 40 hectares of Ukraine's territory have been cleared of explosive devices over the past day, and more than 81,000 hectares since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. https://www.online.ua/
