Hungary has decided to deploy air defense near the border with Ukraine. This happened after the Armed Forces of Ukraine were allowed to strike Russia with Western missiles.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Hungarian Defense Minister Kristof Szalai-Bobrovnitsky, as quoted by Telex.
He noted that he had ordered the deployment of air defense assets in the northeastern part of Hungary, which borders Ukraine. The minister argued that “the scale of the Russian-Ukrainian war is larger than ever, and the war has entered the most dangerous phase.”
The Defense Minister linked the deployment of air defense to the lifting of restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons provided by the allies. This includes permission to use Western missiles to strike deep into Russian territory.
The Hungarian minister also said that this was the reason why Russia announced a change in its nuclear doctrine.
