Hungary will provide 187 million euros of financial assistance to Ukraine as part of the 18 billion euros aid package, which the European Commission plans to allocate to Kyiv. This is stated in the decision of the Hungarian government, published on Wednesday evening, November 23.
"The government continues to participate in the financial support of war-torn Ukraine, - the government resolution reads, - Therefore, it calls on the Minister of Finance to ensure the allocation of 187 million euros, which will be Hungary's share of the 18 billion euros loan from the EU to be provided to Ukraine."
The government decision, signed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, also states that the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto should start negotiations with Ukraine to formalize the agreement necessary for financial assistance, the Reuters agency reported.
