The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is preparing for the fact that in the near future, attack drones will prevail over missiles in Russian attacks on the territory of Ukraine.
Source: Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat on the national news telethon on the morning of October 2 and on Radio Liberty.
Details: The journalist noted that Ukrainian air defense systems currently shoot down 70-80% of drones and asked whether this proportionality would continue: if they shot down 80 out of 100, would they shoot down 800 out of 1000.
Ihnat answered: "The proportionality will be maintained when we receive proportionate means. You see, Ukraine spends a lot of its munitions on missiles, reconnaissance UAVs and attack UAVs. If the enemy increases the number of attack drones, we will definitely need to increase the number of weapons".
The Air Force spokesman added that Ukraine can increase the number of air defense assets only with the help of partners, so ongoing work with partners in the Ramstein format is underway.
Ihnat's direct speech: "We understand that the threat of drones will grow, there are more of them, and, accordingly, we need more means to be used rationally against these UAVs.
There is every indication that attack drones will dominate attacks. Therefore, we need to draw conclusions and prepare for this".
