Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anton Korynevych said this in an exclusive commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent in The Hague.

"Today is essentially the culmination. This is the last day of oral hearings, where Ukraine presents its position. I want to say that the Ukrainian delegation, the Ukrainian team, and the team of lawyers, did everything possible to present everything properly, to take into account every detail, every circumstance, every legal argument, and we will do the same in all other cases. I think that citizens who follow this case can see how the arguments of the parties are structured, and of course, we hope that the decision of the International Court of Justice will establish the violation of these two conventions by the Russian Federation.

The Court has all the relevant information. So we hope that soon enough we will meet again here in The Hague for the announcement of the judgment. We hope that the decision will be one that reflects the facts, the law, and the truth," he said.

Korynevych also noted that the decisions of international judicial institutions are very important, in particular, the International Court of Justice, because they record violations of international law by the Russian Federation.

"We, as citizens of Ukraine, obviously understand that Russia is the biggest violator of international law in the modern world, but we need to have decisions of judicial institutions because it is about the obligations of states, about compensation, reparations, so these decisions are very important in our struggle for justice, for the fact that Ukraine as a state, first of all on the battlefield, but also in international judicial institutions, is fighting against Russian aggression," he said.
