Sep 2, 2024

In the near future, Iran may transfer ballistic missiles to Russia. This step may provoke a quick response from Ukraine's allies.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg.

According to anonymous sources, Iran has provided Russia with hundreds of drones during the aggressor country's full-scale war against Ukraine, but “the potential transfer of ballistic missiles would mean an alarming development of the conflict.”

The sources declined to provide an estimate of the type and volume of the delivery or an exact timetable, but one official said the transfer could begin within days.

The publication recalled that the United States and other NATO allies have repeatedly warned Tehran of such a move and are making diplomatic efforts to prevent it.

The US National Security Council has not yet responded to Bloomberg's request for comment. Iran's Foreign Ministry and its mission to the UN also refrained from commenting.
