Israeli troops near one of Hamas' most important strongholds
The Israeli Defense Forces announced that it is "expanding its activities" in the Gaza Strip, with fighting taking place in Gaza City. At the same time, the IDF is near one of the "most significant" Hamas strongholds.

According to the IDF, the troops clashed with one of Hamas's "main battalions" in the Zaytun area.
IDF troops also operated on the outskirts of Jabalia, where, according to the Israeli military, "one of the most significant terrorist strongholds" was located - the "command and control center of the North Gaza Brigade".
According to the IDF, "numerous" Hamas militants were killed and the underground infrastructure was struck.
It is also reported that Israeli infantry and armored vehicles were attacked with anti-tank missiles and explosive devices.
