Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has arrived in Kyiv on an official visit today, March 21. He will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was reported by the Japanese outlet KYODO.
The visit of the Prime Minister to Ukraine has been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The visit of the head of the Japanese government was kept secret and took place immediately after Kishida's meeting with the Prime Minister of India in New Delhi.
It is worth noting that Fumio Kishida is the last G7 leader to visit Ukraine.
According to The Guardian, Kishida has visited Bucha. He saw the consequences of Russian atrocities in the city.
The prime minister laid flowers near a church in Bucha where civilians killed by the Russians were buried.
"I’m outraged by the cruelty. I represent the Japanese citizens to express my condolences to those who lost their lives," Kishida said.
He also assured that Japan will continue to make every effort to support Ukraine in restoring peace.
