Kursk breakthrough lays the groundwork for talks with Putin's successor

The Kursk operation lays the groundwork for negotiations with the successor to current Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Markus Faber.

Faber noted that the operation against Russian troops near Kursk is going better than expected.

"The progress shows the Russian population that their dictator has no control over anything and that it is too much for the military leadership. This is a good basis for peace talks with Putin's successor. And negotiations with Putin before the International Criminal Court," the head of the Defense Committee wrote.

He noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive is forcing the aggressor to withdraw its troops from the front in eastern Ukraine, which reduces the pressure on the Ukrainian military in that region.

At the same time, Faber believes this operation is a good reason to raise the issue of supplying Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

"Our military assistance to Ukraine is the best investment in our security. It reduces the potential of the Russian threat every day. It protects the civilian population of Ukraine from becoming refugees. Putin's mouthpieces in Germany can now realize this as well," he said in his post.
