Large-scale air exercises begin in Northern Europe

On Monday, May 29, the international air exercise Arctic Challenge Exercise 23 begins, led by the air forces of Finland, Sweden and Norway.

This is reported with reference to the Finnish Armed Forces.

As noted, the exercises will be held in the Finnish cities of Rovaniemi and Pirkkala, as well as in Luleå, Sweden, and Ørland, Norway.

A total of about 3 thousand military personnel will take part in them.

Arctic Challenge Exercise is one of the largest air exercises in Europe. In addition to the countries leading the exercise, it also includes Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the United States.

The military exercises will last 2 weeks and end on June 9.

During this time, the fighter jets will make two takeoffs a day, mainly in the northern parts of Finland, Norway and Sweden.
