Large-scale phishing emails spotted in Romania

May 1, 2023

Thousands of Romanian residents have been receiving emails in recent days on behalf of a real delivery company with a link that attempts to lure users' bank details.

This was reported by Digi24.

A typical letter that users receive informs them that their parcel allegedly has an incorrect address and asks them to provide the correct data using the link to avoid a refund.

After clicking on the link, the form asks for personal data and bank card information.

The verification confirmed that the IP address is located in Russia, and it seems that the message is sent by a group of criminals from the Russian Federation.

The mailing is unlikely to mislead people who are not expecting a parcel from a specific company, but the threat was reported on TV news.
