On September 28, the Saeima supported the National Security Concept despite the categorical objections of the Council of Public Electronic Media (SEPLP), Latvian Television, and Latvian Radio.

They called for a revision of the part of the document that deals with the information space and provides for a ban for LTV and LR to create and distribute content in Russian.

LTV and LR expressed their categorical disagreement with the idea of a ban on public media outlets creating content in Russian, noting that this idea appeared in the document without consultation with the media themselves, the supervisory authority and experts, and that it directly contradicts the goal of strengthening the security of the country's information space.
