Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in a meeting with the NATO secretary general on Thursday, said Italy is firmly committed to the Alliance and efforts to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Meloni's statement was quoted by the AP news agency.
Meloni told NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a meeting in her office that the best way to protect European security is to stay united.
"Given our primary objective today, Italy strongly supports Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and freedom. The political cohesion of the Alliance and our full commitment to support Ukraine is, in our view, the best response NATO allies can give," Meloni said.
