It is noted that official notifications were sent to the authorities of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the SIS, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, took tough measures to denounce the cooperation agreement with the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR), the statement said.

"Starting from February 24, 2022, with the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the cooperation between the Information and Security Service and the special services of the Russian Federation was terminated, and therefore the above agreements have no practical application, being essentially non-functional. The inconsistency of the provisions of these agreements with the national interests and security of the Republic of Moldova justifies the denunciation process initiated by the Information and Security Service," the SIS statement said.

The service added that the provisions of these agreements, signed in 1994, including additional protocols, were legal reservations invoked by the Russian Federation to justify the presence of Russian special services on the left bank of the Dniester. Thus, in case of denunciation of these agreements, such "arguments" cannot be put forward by the Russian Federation, the SIS emphasized.

It is emphasized that the Information and Security Service of Moldova does not maintain external partnerships with similar structures of other states that clearly disregard the law and act to the detriment of national security, carry out subversive activities against the Republic of Moldova, including undermining the functionality of the democratic state system, destabilizing the socio-political and economic situation and posing a threat to the territorial integrity of the country.
